About PM Decision Log
A product-decision record capturing context, options, rationale, confidence, reversibility, consultation, risks, and review dates, with flags for irreversible or overdue decisions.
What’s included
- Decision database and record template
- Reversibility, confidence, and impact context
- Review dates and urgency indicators
How to use it in practice
Record a recent product decision while the alternatives are still clear. State what would make you reconsider it and set a useful review date. At review, compare the expected effect with evidence from the product rather than rewriting the original rationale to fit what happened afterward.
Set it up in your workspace
- Open the original Notion Marketplace listing and add the template to your chosen workspace while signed in. Keep its example records until you understand how the pages connect.
- Record a recent product decision while the alternatives are still clear.
- Try one complete example before adding a large backlog. Check that its views and any calculations show what you expect, then replace the sample content with your own.
Who it suits and what to consider
Product managers who want to preserve reasoning and revisit whether a decision worked. The flags organize recorded judgments and dates. They do not establish which decision is correct, and the product-focused examples may need adapting for wider project work.
