About Eisenhower's Priority Matrix
An Eisenhower matrix is useful when urgent requests crowd out important work. This template gives the method a visible structure. The decisions still need your judgment: a due date alone does not tell you whether a task deserves your attention.
What’s included
- An Eisenhower Matrix layout for sorting tasks
- A structure based on urgency and importance
- An editable Notion workspace for reviewing competing priorities
How to use it in practice
Sort a short task list, then inspect why each item is urgent or important. A deadline from someone else may require a conversation rather than immediate action. Schedule important work before the calendar fills, and remove tasks that no longer serve a purpose. Revisit the matrix when circumstances change instead of treating the first classification as permanent.
Set it up in your workspace
- Follow the original creator’s checkout or access instructions to obtain the Notion page. Open that page while signed in, then duplicate it into the workspace you want to use.
- Place a short list of current tasks into the matrix. Check whether each urgent item has a real deadline or only feels pressing.
- Try one complete example before adding a large backlog. Check that its views and any calculations show what you expect, then replace the sample content with your own.
Who it suits and what to consider
People who need help prioritizing a crowded task list. A useful prioritization exercise when everything feels equally pressing. The value comes from making the distinction carefully, not from placing every possible task into a quadrant.
