About Customer Discovery Tracker
Discovery notes are more useful when you can trace a conclusion back to the conversation behind it. This tracker provides a place for customer learning. Separate what someone said from your interpretation, and look for repeated patterns before making a product decision.
What’s included
- Notion discovery documents, customer-segment pages, and an interview tracker
- A Google Sheets alternative
- A discovery guide, instructional videos, and a separately described GPT resource
How to use it in practice
Write the assumption you want to investigate before scheduling interviews. Keep observed behavior and direct quotes separate from your interpretation. After a few sessions, compare patterns within a customer segment and retain links to the original notes. Choose the next research question based on what remains uncertain rather than treating a positive comment as validation of the whole business.
Set it up in your workspace
- Follow the original creator’s checkout or access instructions to obtain the Notion page. Open that page while signed in, then duplicate it into the workspace you want to use.
- Record one conversation with its context and open questions. Link a possible insight back to the original notes.
- Try one complete example before adding a large backlog. Check that its views and any calculations show what you expect, then replace the sample content with your own.
Who it suits and what to consider
Founders learning about a problem and its audience. A broad discovery toolkit for founders. Check current access requirements for the GPT resource, and use the underlying interview evidence when making a product decision.
