About Customer Interview Tracker
Interview notes are easier to use when the original context remains visible. This tracker gives conversations a structure. Record the participant’s words separately from your own interpretation and link a possible finding back to the source session before treating it as evidence.
What’s included
- Interview records with status and customer-segment context
- Fields for problem signals and follow-up
- Prompts for retaining evidence and existing workarounds
How to use it in practice
Start with a research question and a small set of interviews. Record the participant’s account of a real experience, keeping quotations separate from your interpretation. After each session, note unanswered questions and the next follow-up. Compare evidence within a segment before turning a pattern into a product decision.
Set it up in your workspace
- Open the original Notion Marketplace listing and add the template to your chosen workspace while signed in. Keep its example records until you understand how the pages connect.
- Add a test session with the research question and a short set of observations. Decide on a small, consistent set of tags.
- Try one complete example before adding a large backlog. Check that its views and any calculations show what you expect, then replace the sample content with your own.
Who it suits and what to consider
Founders and researchers learning from customers. Useful for preserving research context. A consistent structure helps comparison, while the quality of findings still depends on the conversations and evidence.
